Nowadays, according to the increasing need for energy in human societies to meet different needs, as well as the limitation of fossil fuel resources and environmental pollution, and the environmental and political risks of nuclear fuels, renewable energies can be considered as the first and best option for energy production in countries. Due to the strategic location of Iran and its unlimited renewable energy capacities it is necessary for the development and use of these resources to be placed on the agenda of the country's officials and planners. This emphasizes the provision of an optimal model for development of renewable energy efficiency, based on the views of energy experts and use of strategic tools. This thesis intends to study the status of renewable energy in Iran and analyze production and utilization of renewable energy in the country, in order to prioritize renewable resources in accordance with the structure of energy production and consumption, based on (SWOT) matrix. To achieve this goal, economic parameters such as cost of renewable energies are considered as one of the decision-making factors and appropriate strategies have been provided for using renewable energy in the country based on previous studies and consulting with energy experts in the framework of decision making methods such as AHP and TOPSIS. The results of this research and the proposed framework can be helpful for decision makers, managers, researchers and investors in the field of energy.
