Chatter in rolling is a phenomenon that occurs unexpectedly and affects the quality of the product and the production rate of the rolling mills. It may also cause damage to the mill components and strip rupture. In this study, theoretical and experimental investigations are used to have a better understanding of the chatter phenomenon in rolling. The present investigations are divided into three major parts. The first part refers to the simulations performed. The second part is related to the practical experiments that have been conducted. The third activity is connected to the optimization of rolling process to increase the rolling speed to avoid chatter to occur. Key Words Chatter, Rolling, ALE Finite Element, Experiment, Vibration, Optimization.
