Traditionally soil reinforcement techniques used for construct a safe embankment or create a robust base for various structures. Reinforcement can be divide to two groups, such as the elastic reinforcement like geosynthetic and rigid reinforcement like straps. In this thesis a new geosynthetic is going to introduce and its effects in soil strength parameters placed will be checked. Braiding is a new technology in the production of geosynthetic, using this technology an engineered mesh structures can be design and produce like a tube. In fact this thesis examines the effect of confining on the soil with braid elements, it seems that the function of these elements in the soil is similar to the confining function of geocells, in fact braid is 3D reinforcement that soil confine inside of this elements is in touch with Surrounding soil like geocell, but we don't have continues structure as geocells so this elements is discrete and slash. In this thesis the braid elements go inside the soil as pile that have specified primary incline by interface of shear box test and will be loading and after that the results of that, compare with unreinforced soil. The results indicate increase of cohesion and internal friction angle of soil reinforced. Using braid as reinforcement caused the shear strength of composit soil increase more double. To evaluate application in the field this reinforcement, the California bearing ratio test is used, resulting in significant increase in resistance and reducing energy required for density. Keywords : braid, geosynthetic, large shear box, CBR, strength parameters.
