In this thesis, we first review the internal metric of a collapsing star in four dimensions. It turns out that this metric is equivalent to the closed FRW universe. Considering the similarity of the gravitational properties in (2+1) dimensional space-time and (3+1) dimensional space-time and also the relative simplicity of the problem in (2+1) dimensions, we study the time-dependent solutions to the field equations of Einstein-scalar theory with non-minimal and minimal couplligs , and investigate the formation of black hole in asymptotically anti de Sitter space-time. We also study rotating and static charged black hole solutions.
