The aim of this project was preparation of carbonous products with spherical morphology from carbonization of polymerized resorcinol-formaldehyde products. In the following step, sulfur atoms has been introduced into the carbonized spheres with chemical vapor deposition method, which then activated under carbon dioxide atmosphere for different time period. Structure of products has been investigated by EDS, FE-SEM, TEM, XRD, BET and raman analysis. The introduced sulfur atom effect on isotherm and kinetic of methylene blue adsorption from aqueous solution media have been studied. The results confirm proper efficiency of this sort of matter on cationic dye removal. Ionic strength on this phenomenon also has been investigated. Furthermore, the functionality of produced carbonized spheres in polymer matrix has been investigated by preparation of polysulfone composite membrane with different weight percentage of spheres by PI method. Morphology of mentioned membranes has been proven by SEM images, water contact angle, overall porosity and mean pore diameter. Water permeation and methylene blue rejection of dye contained waste water by in-hand membranes has been measured and results reveal 99.98% rejection from 200 ppm methylene blue solution.
