This work is a summary of the installation of a dye laser pumped by an Nd:YAG in the chemistry department. Two dyes, Rhodamine6G and RhodamineB were used to observe the emission of the dye laser. After the necessary adjustments and tunings, The wavelength was calibrated based on the optogalvanic spectroscopy. An Ag/Ne hollow cathode lamp was used to observe the optogalvanic signals, while a photodiode was used to record the interference pattern, resulting from two parallel beams reflecting from an etalon. Finally, 8 transitions have been recorded in the optogalvanic spectrum of neon in the visible region 560-610 nm among which, seven were assigned. The behavior of the amplitude of three transitions,,, and , with the ion current were studied and used to confirm the assignment.
