In the first part of this work, a new coated-wire ion-selective poly(vinyl chloride) membrane electrode based on Desipramine tetraphenylborate, as a neutral carrier, was successfully developed for detection of Desipramine HCl in aqueous solution. The electrode exhibited linear response with approximate Nernstian slope of 55.5±0.8 mV per decade within the concentration range1.0 × 10 -5 to1.0 × 10 -2 M Desipramine ion. The limit of detection was 9.2 × 10 -6 M. The response time of the electrode was 3 s and was suitable for use in aqueous solutions in a wide pH range of 2.0 - 8.7 . In second part of this work, a new coated-wire ion-selective poly(vinyl chloride) membrane electrode based on a complex of Dibucaine with tetraphenylborate as a neutral carrier, was successfully developed for detection of Dibucaine HCl in aqueous solution. The electrode exhibited linear response with approximate Nernstian slope of 53.3±0.6 mV per decade within the concentration range1.0 × 10 -5 to1.0 × 10 -2 M Desipramine ion. The limit of detection was 8.8 × 10 -6 M. The response time of the electrode was 3 s over the entire concentration range ans the electrode was suitable for use in aqueous solutions in a wide pH range of 2.0 – 6.0.
