Drought is one of the most important natural disasters which, annually imports millions of dollars damage to worldwide farming communities. I recent decades among natural disasters that have affected human populations, numerous drought phenomenon happened in terms of severity, during period, total covered area, mortalities, economic damages and long-term social impacts in the community, more than any other natural disaster. One of the most important effects and consequences of this phenomenon is water shortage for various uses including agriculture. Construction of aqueducts and exploitation of them is one of the traditional methods for water supply, especially in drought periods in Iran. One of the most significant coping strategies about drought and water supply is artificial feeding. artificial feeding is an effective method that solves various problems of modern agriculture at the macro level. Considerable interest, in this issue is determining appropriate location for implementing of ground water artificial recharge projects. Nowadays, with the help of geographic information systems (GIS) and using multi-criteria decision-making methods, in dealing with such issues better strategies can be adopted. In this study, Koohpayeh drainage basin, located in Isfahan province has been studied. Criteria layers introduced for ground water artificial recharge project site selection in this basin and are combined using Fuzzy logic in GIS environment. Finally, the appropriate places for ground water artificial recharge in Koohpayeh basin specified and validated. According to the results obtained by fuzzy logic, south, southwest and central parts of Koohpayeh drainage basin are recommended. Also, southern region (plain) has more potential in comparison to central part.
