Tomato ( Lycopersicon esculentum ) plays an important role in human health, an important role in human health,as the most popular fruit vegetable, due to high contents of vitamins, carotenoids, suitable acids, sugars and minerals. Lycopene as an abundant composites of tomato, has some prpperties such as anti cancer, skin protection against UV rays and also prevents digestive disease.. One of the major methods of tomato culture is tranplantation. Productionof a good tralant plays an important role in a succesful plant crop production . tralant growers are in competition with each other to obtain a better quality. A major problem in tralant production is herbacious growth and exessive elongation of seedlings. Quality of tralants depends on a good rooting system, proper branches, regulated heigh, good clor and good flowering, without pests and diseases. Paclobutrazol az a growth retardant can control elongation of tralants by preventing of GA 3 synthesis. There are different concentrations and application methods for paclobutrazol. Current experiment was conduction method and concentration in tomato tralant production. Treatments were comprised of 4 levels (0, 200, 400 and 600 mg/L) with seed soacking method and 4 levels (0, 25, 50 and 100 mg/L) in two methods containing spraying and soil drench. This experiment was conducted as a comoletly randomized design with 12 treatments in four replication and each replicate containing two plants. Some traits related to quality of tralant were measured before getting transferd to the soil, and after getting transferd to the soil, the effect of paclobutrazol was studied on the chlorophyl content, Ion leakage, relative water content and reproductive phase as well. The results showed that paclobutrazol demonstrated a significant effect on height and diameter of shot and crown, the number of roots, fresh and dry weight of shoot and roots, sugar content of shoots and roors of tralants in all three methods of application. Paclobutrazol caused a significant reduction in tralant hight, increase in stem and crown diameter, reduction in fresh and dry weight of shoots and increase in sugar content of shoots. Paclobutrazol caused a significant increase in fresh and dry weight of the roots, number of the roots, sugar content of the roots, and significant decease in root length as well. Paclobutrazol also indicated a significant effect on chlorophyll content, Ion leakage, early fruiting and the number of flowers. Among all three methods of application seed soacking methods caused a significant dicrease in Ion leakage, early fruiting and vegetative phase, as well as it reduced hieght and improved the quality of tralants, therefore it could be useful as a proper concentration and method of application for tomato culture.
