Land use change ( in Kalardasht ) refers to destruction and conversion of forest, pastures, and agricultural lands, in to residential and industrial areas. This causes the removal of fertile soil, depletion of plant and vegetation cover, and ecological non-sustainability. Consequently, it can have adverse natural, economic, and environmental effects. Nowadays, land use change is a matter of global concern, since it has had remarkable impact on the consistent development processes. Industrialization and subsequently urbanization growth, deforestation increase, greenhouse gas emission, and destruction of the ozone layer, global (warming), and severe climate changes have made the earth facing with twofold problems. (Obviously, human activities have had crucial role in the crisis). Kalardasht is of those regions which has recently faced with intensive environmental destruction. Land use change and unrestricted constructions, large scale deforestation, and environmental destruction in Kalardasht not only have devastated environmental resources, but also has had negative impacts on humans and the society itself. This research aims to answer these questions: what are the most influential factors to land use change in Kalardasht? What are the impacts of land use change on this region? And dose this ongoing process harmonize with the objects of the fifth plan of development, as well a the goals of the constitutions, the principles 45 and 50, and the approved bills of the parliment (Islamic consultative assembly)? In this research, the destructive factors are investigated using qualitative methods such as semi-structured interviews, participant observation, and documentary studies. And then with the help of the systems dynamic approach, conceptual models are made in order to investigate how the interaction between causes and effects will affect the formation of the unbalanced development. Next, with the help of the simulation, inconsistent procedures in region will be prognosticated and finally some solutions will be introduced to help preventing of the land destruction. This study showed that improper policies of different governments in the last 20 years, on doing so-called developmental plans, lack of knowledge in local societies with regard to the effects of environmental destruction, and low income and poverty, are of the crucial factors in land use change. This has led to devastation and reduction of natural, human, and social resources. Keyword: landuse change, system dynamic approach, kalardasht
