The main purpose of this thesis is the study of factors that affect the achievement of rural development and improving the economical levels of poor villagers of three districts (flat, mountainous, desert ) of Isfahan province. Due to the fact that majority of the population of Iran lives in villages and agriculture is their main income source, rural development can not be achieved without the nvestigation and improving of the agriculture situation. Improving agriculture co-operatives is one of the vital factors for improving agricultural levels and ultimately achieving raral development. This can be done via management improvement of cooperative organizatio. Evaluation of the role of management in the success of agricultural cooperatives of Isfahan province was the main objective of this research. The level of seccess of Isfahan agricultural cooperatives, the effect of management style and the other effects werwe evaluated. For this purpose, two-stage sampling (stratified sampling and simple random clustering ) was used. Three different agricultural ccoperative arganizations (poultry and animal husbandry, horticulture, and others) of three different districts (flat, mountainous, desert) were selected for sampling. About 270 questionnaires were distributed among the members and managers of these cooperative organizations (162 and 108 questionnaires were answerd respectively by members and managers). Statistical tests ( Factor analysis and Alpha coefficient) showed that this research was high in construction validity and reliability. The study data analyzed by frequency distribution table, chi-square statistics, the Pearson correlation coefficient, indipendent samples T-test, one way ANOVA, Duncan multiple range test, multiple regression analysis, and path analysis. The results of this investigation sow that success of these cooperatives depend strongly on changing the management style to democratic management style. It was also shown that unfortunately, cooperatives , performances are not successful toward their desired goals. The cooperatives , successes were evaluated by both managers and members. The managers evaluated their cooperatives successes higher than the members, mostly due for their management style. The managers insisted on the importance of the educational workshops for the members, but expressed that the number of these workshops are less than needed. According to our findings, the success of these cooperative organizations depends, respectively on the satisfaction of the members toward the kind of activities, management style, and trust to these methods. In viewpoints of managers, the most influential factors of good performance were management style and technical education ( in flat areas ), management organization teaching related to democratic cooperatives ( in mountainous areas) and trust to education of democratic cooperatives ( in desert areas ).
