: Vegetation conservation is one of the important parameters in successful range management. Artemisia sieberi is one of the native species in dry regions in Iran but this species has not been used for desert rehabilitation. This study was conducted to investigate germination and establishment characteristics of this species in germinator and greenhouse. Natural establishment and consumption by Goitered Gazelle the main herbivore species was also studied in Kolah Ghazi National Park near Isfahan . Seeds were collected from 20 randomly selected mature plants along 6 Km transect in study area. After breaking dormancy all seeds were treated at 0 to 5°C for 9 days. Pregermination cold treated seeds were used in 3 sets of germination experiments: 1- drought induced by polyethylene glycol, at 0, -2, -4 and -6 bars levels. 2- application of 0, 10, 20 and 30 percent of A. sieberi foliage extracts on germinating seeds. 3- germination under 12 hours light and dark periods and continue light or dark conditions. Germination data were collected in a complete random design and analyzed by SAS. Germinated seeds were tralanted into plastic bags and planted in field with 4 times irrigation during summer. Crown cover and density of A. sieberi were measured in 5 consecutive seasons along the 6 Km transect in 130 circular plots of 5 m2 area. Forage consumption from this species by Gazelle was studied during 5 seasons. Results indicated that germination under increasing drought levels reduced percent and rate of germination as well as reducing stem length, and alometric ratios. Increasing plant extract concentrations reduced percent and rate of germination, as well as stem and root lengths. In light compared to dark condition percent and rate of germination as well as root length were increased but alometric ratio and stem length were reduced. Sixty three percent of seeds were germinated in germination trays in favorable condition from which only 23 percent of seedlings were survived. Tralanted seedlings into plastic bags had an establishment rate of 70 percent while tralanted seedlings from plastic bags into field had 75% survival resulting in over all 7.61% establishment rate from seeds. According to A. sieberi crown cover 3 sites were distinguished along the transect with about 1, 2 and 3 Km lengths. Crown cover of A.
