During recent years, remotely sensed data have been widely applied in identifying and analyzing land use and land cover changes. These data provide accurate change detection of earth?s surface and consequently a better understanding of human and natural phenomena relationships and interactions are supplied for perfect resource management. There are various methods for land use and land cover change detection such as post- Isfahan vicinity, as well, evaluating the affects of these wastes on the studied areas desertification. MSS, TM and ETM + LANDSAT images aquised on 1975, 1990, 2001 respectively, plus LISSIII data of IRS satellite aqused on 2005 were used in the current study to map the trends of stone cutting waste deposited area changes. First of all geometric correction was performed to all images. To Key words: Solid waste, stone cutting , Desertification , change detection, land cover.
