Rangelands serve as one of the most valuable resources, playing fundamental role in soil and water conservation and meeting countries food demands as long as they are utilized in a correct manner and restoration operations are performed with public participation. Also economic benefits of Rangeland species planted by natural resources department was compared with barley as one of common agricultural crops within the study area. this research is aiming at identifying and characterization of the main motivating and preventing factors affecting public participation in rangeland rehabilitation projects. Acomprehensive literature review was applied to identify the main probable factors along with.interviewing to experts, decision makers and local communities.two set of questionnaires were designed and fulfilled through direct interview with experts and local people. All collected data were statistically analysed using and Microsoft EXCEL softwares. Qualitative variable in the study led us to use non-participation statistical methods such as chi-square- test, spearman correlation coefficients and logistic regression. Also economic benefits of Rangeland species planted by natural resoures office was companed to barcly as one of common agricultural crops within study area. Results clearly show that education and awareness level are the most important variables for non-participation of people followed by social, planning and policy making and economical variables. However in the case of experts viewpoints, education and awareness are the most important factors followed by policy making and planning, social and economical variables. Results could be beneficial for identification of participation obstacles and a guideline for reducing or removing them.
