Knowledge of land use change for investigation factors and their causes over a period of time could be considered by planners and managers. Change in characteristics of runoff through changing patterns of land use understanding the impacts of land use change, or land cover on the surface hydrological processes is essential. The results of this research can be determine qualitative and quantitative effects of land use on both of the hydrological response and groundwater fluctuation of plain NajafAbad. This study has attempted to examine the relationship between land use change and purpose of this study was the investigation of the relationship between land use change and its change in relation to the average loss rate, height runoff and runoff coefficient and their impacts on groundwater fluctuations. In this study, different maps of land use, curve number, runoff height and runoff coefficient in the years 1370, 1381 and 1392 were prepared and then area of each of the units were extracted. Then, the land use change in the periods studied and its effect on the number of curves, runoff height and runoff coefficient was investigated and finally the impacts of these change on the level of groundwater was determined. The results showed that during the periods of study, the increase residential areas, pastures degraded and also decrease agricultural land and planting of trees caused increase curve number and followed increase the runoff. Finally we can say that these factors, combined with land use change reduces the underground water level in NajafAbad plain.
