Todays, diamond wire cutting methods is used for cutting and shaping dimension stones in quarries and processing plants. Estimation of stones’ sawability is the key element toward estimation of costs in a dimension stone quarry. This issue is influenced by multiple parameters, some of them are associated with rocks characteristics and are uncontrollable and some of them are related to cutting tools and operational conditions. Physical, mechanical and strength characteristics of rocks, structural and environmental conditions, operational and tools properties and administrative characteristics are among parameters that can affect sawability, production rate, power consumption and wear rate of diamond beads. Alteration of each of these changeable parameters can influence the system productivity. Controlling and improvement of conditions and dominance over processes can enable domestic quarries to compete with foreign quarries. In other word, increasing demands and effective competition in global markets requires efficient utilization of technology and available tools in quarrying. In this regard, firstly correct utilization of equipment and secondly assessment of their performance are the keys of success and productivity enhancement in this field, which this thesis is implemented in this direction. In this thesis, firstly the physical and mechanical characteristics of 11 different varieties of hard rocks have been determined, then a new dir=rtl
