Rangelands are one of the most important renewable resources of each country, and their conservation and also the restoration of degraded rangelands is one of the most important challenges for the governments. Gum tragacanth is one of the most valuable rangeland sub-products that has been used in Iran since the past and people were familiar with it. The Astragalus plant has a shrub shape and has a maximum height of one meter and often is cultivated as wildling in mountainous areas and arid rangelands. Iranian gum generators produce the most excellent type of tragacanth, which has a very high export and industrial value. To collect gum tragacanth, usuallyscars and sores are made on the root and planting branches. According to studies on the field of location and selection of habitats, the habitat chosen for collecting gum tragacanth from the Hendukosh ranges has been selected from Faridan County. The most typical species of the Astragalus verus ranges is with the 49% composition of the spread. Two species of Astragalus verus Olivier and Astragalus gossypinus fisch species are the most important species of tragacanth generator in this rangeland. The available area of Astragalus plants in the Hendukosh village is estimated at 6700 hectares by the Department of Natural Resources of Isfahan Province. Gum tragacanth which has harvested from this region was utilized for green synthesis of silver nanoparticles. Several methods were used to determine the successful production and structural characteristics of the material. Characterization results of silver nanoparticles produced by ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy (UV-Vis) X-ray diffraction (XRD), infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), dynamic light scattering (DLS), and finally transmission electron microscopy (TEM) has been investigated and analyzed to ensure optimum product, and in the next step, the quality of the manufactured nanoparticles will be investigated. Finally, the antibacterial activity of produced silver nanoparticles against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria was studied by Agar disk diffusion method and the results reported the excellent antibacterial activity by these nanoparticles. After synthesizing and analyzing the produced nanoparticles, the valuation of the product was carried out using cost-based methods, and it was found that the cost per gram of silver nanoparticles produced by the green synthesis of silver nanoparticles by gum tragacanth is 532949 Rials and the proceeds from the production of silver nanoparticles by the use of obtained tragacanth in Hendukosh rangelands is 25877095500 Rials per hectare. According to the market prices, green Synthesis method compared to other methods, is a cost effective, economical and high value-added technique that can, in addition to sustainable employment, help maintain biodiversity in rangeland ecosystems.
