About 70 percent of poultry production expenses are due to feed cost and 60 percent of feed that used are pellets. In Iran there is no much investment in mechanization of poultry feed production. The technical technology in poultry feed industry, leads to import developed machines in the recent years. In this project, the main abjective is designing, manufactureing and evaluation of press Pelleting machine, which is not produced in Iran . Determination of some physical and mechanical properties of poultry feed are used in order to design Press Pellet machine. The samples were prepared at three different levels of moisture content (16%-18% w.b.), that are the best range of feed moisture content for pelleting operation. The Shear-box test were used to determine coefficient of internal friction and Universal testing machine with simulated die hole to determine required normal force during the press of feed in die. The machine is designed according to the technical calculations that includes properties and dimensions of the parts, selecting rollerbearing and calculating power transfer system. The machine parts were manufactured and assembled according to the parts designed. After primary evaluation, machine problems were solved during the test. Also necessary adjustment was performed desired operation. In evaluation of machine, the best space between rollers and die was 0.2 to 0.3 mm, and it was observed that if this space increase more than 0.6 mm the machine will stop because of gathering the feed between this space. Also opening end and direct grooves on rollers, decrease machine capacity. Stiffness Quality of pellets were measured by Universal testing machine.
