urface engineering is the change in material properties on surfaces. One of the applications of this science is construction of super hydrophobic surfaces. when the drop falls on the surface of the water , it becomes spherical and easily applied to the surface. it has been iired from nature. Super Hydrophobic Surfaces (SHS) were first time discovered by exploring the microstructure of lotus leaf , which is contrary to its smooth appearance at micro and nano scale. in this research , laser Ablation was used to achieve this structure. The generation of periodic surface structures in micro and nano scale using ultra - short pulsed lasers is a new technique that has recently been used to improve different surface properties such as wettability (superhydrophobic and super hydrophilic surfaces), lubrication and optical properties change (optical absorption and optical reflection control) and other physical and chemical properties. in contrast to nanolitogeraphi methods , in this method, the surface structure of interest is created by Laser Ablation on the surface and there is no need to use mask, deposition, and secondary processing processes . when a short pulsed laser is used for laser Ablation , the energy in the shortest possible time and before transmission to bulk material will lead to Ablate. Ultra - short pulsed lasers can be used without any thermal effect on adjacent bulk materials to process surface materials. wettability is related to contact angle and is divided into two categories: hydrophilic and hydrophobic Two important parameters in wettability, roughness and surface energy. surface roughness in micrometer dimension makes air trapping between them and low surface energy makes repulsion force against droplets. in order to achieve the minimum of surface energy in the pure aluminum and remove chemical solutions , the thermal process with low temperature (200 C) and low time (6 hr) was used . in order to obtain surface water repellency ,the 157 degree of contact angle and 6 degree hysteresis contact angle and oleophobic of contact angle 148 degree were determined. in this method, reducing the time of arrival from super hydrophobic surfaces after heat processing is clearly perceptible ,so that the time of reaching this feature in air atmosphere has decreased from 480 hours to 6 hours in oven . adsorption of organic compounds in air atmosphere on aluminum surfaces makes to decrease surface tension of aluminum . since production of these surfaces requires a long time. The present method can be a potential for reducing the production time of these SHS.
