Fabrication of intermetallics foam by combustion synthesis process. Metal foams due to their unique properties for industrial applications such as filters, heat exchangers, and catalysts are good insulation. One of the problems is that the production of foams between metal melting point intermetallic compounds is higher than metals, so the production process will be problematic. Among the various methods of extraction, combustion synthesis process due to easy, does not require expensive equipment and production comes to a porous considered appropriate. Intermetallic compounds (MoSi2), one of the most important silicide compounds used in high temperatures, which has a relatively low density, good electrical and thermal conductivity and excellent resistance to oxidation at high temperatures and can be with this the production method. In the present study the combustion synthesis process for the production of MoSi2 is studied. Hence, for the production of metal foam between MoSi2, the silicon and molybdenum powders with stoichiometric ratio mixture prepared by mixing the different pressures, different density and production.
