In this study, the feeding habits, age ang growth of the Brachirus orientalis were investigated using 300specimens (males and females), collected from costal waters of Bushehr province (Persian Gulf) between Jun 2015 and July 2016. Total length of females and males ranged from 16.2 to38.5 cm and from 14.1 to 29.1 cm respectively. The average of relative length of gut (RLG)index obtained(1.18). Of the total number of examined stomache, 225 were empety (Vacuity index, VI = 77.23). This percentage varied significantly (p 0.05) over the year, with a maximum number of empty stomachs recorded during the April, Septemper.and minimum recorded during the October, May. The maximum stomach fullness index (SFI)values were obtained in October and May. The dite of the Brachirus orientalis was composed of 9 defferent prey species, belonging to 5 main 0.177, L ? =36.174 cm (TL), t 0 = -0.569 years for females, and (K=0.1467 , L ? =33.86 cm (TL), t 0 = -0.433) for male and. There was positive correlation between total length (TL) and weight (w) B.orientalis that was described by w= 0.02TL 2.933 (r 2 = 0.65 ) for females and w= 0.02TL 2.918 (r 2 = 0.96 ) for males and w= 0.018TL 2.964 (r 2 = 0.97) for total population. Regarding the b values obtained, both sexes showed a negative allometric growth. The growth performance index (?) was estimated at 1.99 for females and 1.97 for males indicated that the a growth rates for female fishes is faster than males fishes.
