Growth and reproductive characteristics of 868 specimen, Turcinoemacheilus bahaii , a new species of Nemacheilidae family in the Zayandeh Roud River were investigated by monthly sampling during February 2013 to January 2014. Fish specimen were caught using gillnet (mesh size 1mm) in both Dimeh spring and Khersounak sites. In both sites age groups of females were in the range of 1 + to 5 + and males 1 + to 4 + . The most frequent age groups were 3 + and 1 + in females and males, respectively. The overall sex ratio were 0.5:1 and 0.6:1 (male: female) in Dimeh spring and Khersounak sites, respectively. The highest value of condition factor was observed in April for females and males. The minimum, maximum and average(±SD) absolute fecundity were 284, 620 and 414.13±94.14 in Dimeh Spring and 99, 751 and 365.75±123.67 in Khersounak site. Regarding gonado-somatic index (GSI) values, oocyte diameter, histological studies and abundance of different stages of maturity at different month of the year, it is suggested that spawning of T. bahaii occurs in April and May. Result also show that T. bahaii is an asynchronous species with long spawning season. Growth parameters for both sexes were described by Von Bertalanffy growth function as follows: for females in Dimeh spring K=0.19, L ? =98.33mm , t 0 =-1.95 years and in Khersounak K=0.18, L ? =103.51mm, t 0 =-1.9 years and for males in Dimeh spring K=0.23, L ? =76.28mm , t 0 =-2.87 years and in Khersounak K=0.27, L ? =72.81mm , t 0 =-2.52 years. Both, males and females fish showed the negative allometric growth in both sites. The growth performance index (??) indicating a faster growth rate for females of both sites.
