Habitat destruction and the landscape change are one of the greatest challenges in conservation biology and biogeography. One of the most valuable habitats are wetlands, which provide important environmental services such as flood control, carbon sequestration, and conservation of biodiversity. Migratory birds are wetland-dependent species which can be used as indices for assessing the ecosystem condition. This study was conducted in order to assess the habitat of migratory birds in Miyangaran wetland located in south-west of Iran. Bird identification carried out by using total count method from 2000-2019. Then, different diversity and evenness indices were estimated, using Ecological Methodology Software. The most Shannon-Wiener and Simpson diversity indices were 4.087 and 0.922 respectively, obtained for the year 2008. The highest evenness index was observed in the year 2001 and the least uniformity was for 2007. To assess landuse changes in Miyangaran wetland, satellite images were utilized from the mid-winter of 1990, 2000, 2010 and 2018 for the TM, ETM and OLI sensors.
