Population growth with the improvement of industry caused numerous problems for human life. These problems including generation too much wastewater and shortage of available water resource. Due to overpopulation growth, human requirement to sustainable resource is undeniable. Therefor human have trended to reuse of various wastewaters. Today, finding the proper method for water treatment and water reuse is an important issue that too much research has been done on it. Nanotechnology could be applied in all fields, including engineering, water and water treatment. It's mentioned that use of this technology for water treatment can improve water and wastewater quality to distilled water. In this study the parameters such as BOD 5 , COD, pH, EC, TDS, temperature, Nitrate, phosphate and sulfate were tested that have special importance. The aim of this study is a comparative study of wastewater treatment by biological method compared to nano-filter. It is considered to determine the more appropriate method for industrial wastewater treatment by this comparison. Determination more appropriate method through measurment of removal amount and percentages of each tested parameters and analyzing the significance of the difference between two methods was performed using . The used nano-filter made of Carbon-Neon and its optimal working pressure was 10 bars. Diameter of its pores is 50-80 nm. Experiments were performed weekly and continued for 11 weeks and the parameters were measured every week and were analyzed finally. The results includes these results: pH=7.58, EC=1132.71µS/cm, TDS=894.55mg/L, COD=22mg/L, BOD5=6.87mg/L, NO3=0.37mg/L, PO4=5.82mg/L and SO4=20mg/L for nano-filter method and the means pH=7.70, EC=2982.73µS/cm, TDS=2130.91mg/L, COD=40.37mg/L, BOD5=9.91mg/L, NO3=248.05mg/L, PO4=32.25mg/L and SO4=307.64mg/L for biological method. It is included that the used nano-filter method is more suitable than the used biological method. The most important point, the efficiency of Nano-filter to reduce BOD 5 that many people believe the nano-filters doesn't have ability to reduce it. It is suggested that other parameters, especially heavy metals will be tested to prove the superiority of nano-filter. Key words: Nano-filtration, Biological, Treatment, Industrial Wastewater.
