Nanostructured thin films of (MoO 3 ) 1- x (V 2 O 5 ) x ( x =0, 0.09, 0.17, 0.23, 0.29) were prepared by pulsed laser deposition (PLD) technique at 100 mTorr O 2 on glass and ITO substrates. Deposited films were annealed at 500 ?C for 4 hours in air.Structural, Morphological, optical and electrochemical properties were investigated using XRD, FE-SEM, UV-Vis spectroscopy and electrochemical analysis. XRD confirmed an amorphous to structural transformation up on annealing. Optical transmission of samples was changes after exposure to different agents including dilute hydrogen gas, UV light irradiation and heating. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) in 1 M LiClO 4 /PC revealed that Li + insertion/extraction and the coloration depends on x .
