The current architecture of data center networks is a combination of Ethernet switches and routers. However, this architecture cannot satisfythe requirements of these networks. The most important reason is that L3 routers create overhead and configuration errors significantly. So, researchers are looking for ways that has both layer two and layer three advantages while avoiding their shortcomings. Since hosts have Ethernet hardware, the proposed method should be compatible with Ethernet. SDN is a newly proposed network architecture that allows implementation of new protocols. OpenFlow is a famous SDN protocol used mostly for the implementation of SDN architectures. In this architecture, the manager easily adjusts his intended policies merely on a controller,traffic engineering and quality of service can be carried out quite well, new features can easily be added to the controller.In this architecture, Ethernet can be replaced by newmethods. Then the overhead resulting from Ethernet broadcast, topological limitations, and routing limitations can be avoided.But the control overhead of this method is high. One way to reduce the control overhead by separating big and smallflows and letting the controller to control only the big flows.ECMP routing is a method that can be used for routing small flows. However OpenFlow does not support ECMP.In this thesis, a new method based on OpenFlow is proposed to replace ECMP. The proposed method can achieve performance comparable to ECMP.
