Protected areas are essential to protect and maintain biodiversity and representative natural landscapes across the world. Zoning is now considered to be one of the most important tools for administration and management of protected areas. However, the lack of zoning is common for most protected areas in developing countries. One of the problems that the zoning of protected areas may face is the effects of surrounding areas. Therefore, this is important to consider human activities in surrounding area, especially for protected areas near population centers. We conclude that considering the human activities, land uses, development which already have existing or activities happening around to the designated areas is very important for park planners to zone in a prospective manner.
