In this study, we’ve studied about the geochemical data of the stream sediments in Kivi 1:100000 geological map. The considered area is in Ardabil province and being located among longitude 48? - 48?30' E and latitude 37?30' - 38? N. The study is subdivided into 2 sections: In the first part, the method of sample catchment basin has been demonstrated in the stream sediment data in Kivi 1:100000 geological map. This area has prominent metal deposits such as gold, lead and zinc ore. Then, we computed the sample catchment basin method and accordingly analyzed the obtained results in “PCA” method. Finally, we draw the “distributed anomaly spatial maps” in different kinds using the fractal concentrate-area method. In this component, observed the objectives like studying the sample catchment basin method. Employing the sample catchment basin method to indicates the anomaly basins and the regions taking in high metal deposits in the Ardabil province. In the second section, the self-organizing map method has been employed to indicate geochemical patterns. One of the most significant objects in this division is providing a new data mining way, in order to introduce the abilities and study the different facets of this method. In order to evaluate the results, the method of self-organizing map has been examined over the raw data and those obtained from dilution-corrected residuals in the studied area. This process is done after computing the optimized number of cluster by Davies-Bouldin index. Generally, the self-organizing map is a successful method in demonstrate geochemical and geological patterns, and has the ability to clearly show the connection between mineralization and lithology.
