In this thesis, two new complexes of Zn(II) and Co(III) with gabapentin drug were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, XRD, and spectroscopic techniques. The complexes were manually grounded in an agate mortar subjected to a sonicator probe . The shape and size of the obtained nanocomplexes were investigated by FE-SEM. In the bioinorganic chemistry studies, a in vitro cytotoxicity test of the nanocomplexes were investigated against K562 cancer cell line using the MTT. The results indicate that the prepared nanocomplexes have more anticancer activity in comparision with the free ligand against k562 cancer cell line. In addition, the interaction of [TZDH][Cl] (Tizanidine hydrochliride) with DNA and BSA was carried out using spectroscopic techniques. The results show that the [TZDH][Cl] binds to DNA in a moderately strong intercalation between the base stacks of double-stranded DNA. Morevore, the results demonstrate that the microenviroment and the secondry structure of BSA are change in the presence of [TZDH][Cl].
