In this thesis, aseries of cobalt-molybdenum catalysts supported on calcined bones (hydroxyapatite, HAP), pyrolized bones ( Hydroxyapatite –carbon, HAP-C), pyrolized wood and mesoporous carbo has been prepared by impregnation method. The catalysts were characterized by adsorption-desorption of nitrogen, X-ray diffraction (XRD), FT-IR spectroscopy, UV-Vis spectroscopy, temperature- programmedreduction(TPR), temperature-programmed desorption (TPD) of CO 2 , BET, FE-SEM, EDX and TEM techniques. Hydrodesulfurization (HDS) experiments were carried out in a fixed- bed reactor at 15 bar hydrogen pressure and 310 ?C. HDS reaction of dibenzothiophene (DBT ), dimethyldisulfide (DMDS) and industrial naphtha over Co-Mo/HAP-C and Co-Mo/Al 2 O 3 catalysts were investigated and Co-Mo/HAP-C showed higher activity thanCo-Mo/Al 2 O 3 catalyst. other catalysts weretested for hydrodesulfurization of dimethyldisulfide and decreased the sulfur content more than 90%.
