Following years of human energy is cheap and convenient alternative to fossil fuels. Increasing need for energy, produce more electrical energy, traort and many other needs that are dependent on electrical energy human. It more and more every year to expand nuclear energy scientists estimate the amount of uranium mining around the world have shown that it is quickly running out. One of fuels to a greater extent than the uranium is spread across the globle, is thorium. In this project, the procurement procedure thorium dioxide – uranium dioxide sol-gel method for the production of nuclear fuel have been studied. Based on the studies that were gelation internal procedures as appropriate method to produce small pellets thorium dioxide – uranium dioxide were chosen and factors that affect the properties of the final product was examined with this method. Tests were carried out to obtain spherical gel showed that the pilot in the laboratory, not a good performance needs improvement and repairs. After the pilot reform, with a large number of experiments, the optimum combination to produce good quality gel was determinded. Washing gel tests showed that aging gels, prevent cracks and breakage in the gel in this level. In the following heat treatment for drying and calcining the pellets tested was fine. XRD, Thermal Gravimetric Analysis (TGA) and BET was performed on speciments. It should be noted that the production of regenerative tablets for the first time in the atomic energy organization of iran began.
