In this study, nanocomposites based on carrageenan and poly(methyl methacrylate) were syntesised by using inorganic nanofillers, MCM-41 and TiO 2 which utilized for adsorption of Cu 2+ from aqueous media. Physico-chemical properties of NCs were studied by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), Small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS), and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). The adsorption characteristics of as-synthesized NCs were carried out, and the effect of pH, contact time and initial concentration were investigated. Three kinetic models including pseudo -second-order, Elovich, and intraparticle diffusion models were implemented to study the kinetics and for mechanism of adsorption two isotherm models including Langmuir and Freundlich were explored.
