Agricultural sector has an important role in development of countries. One of the obstacles to development in this sector, especially in Iran is significant fragmentation of agricultural lands. The aim of this study is to assess the willingness to participation of farmers in land consolidation project. The population of this study consists of all farmers of Meymeh County and its surrounding cities and villages Niloofar- Abi cooperative of Vazvan city and Niyaleh region in Vazvan city. Based on the population and distance, the research geographical territory was divided into 6 rural sectors and a cooperative and Niyaleh region. The total number of farmers in the region was equal to 3670 that by using Cochran formula sample was 176 farmers. To measure the validity and reliability of indexs, KMO criteria and Cronbach's alpha coefficient were used. The required field data has been collected through face-to-face interviews and a comprehensive structured questionnaire in order to analyze data, structural equation modeling and nonparametric tests was used. Structural equation modeling method is a combination of structural and measurement models which determines causal structure between latent and observed variables. Furthermore, the impact of economic factors on farmers' willingness to participation was analyzed by comparing the profitability of different level of cultivation before and after the implementation of project in Niyaleh plain. Therefore, the income and cost data of three sample farmer was collected. The results of this study show that the most important factors on farmers' willingness to participation are crop acreage and number of plots which respectively has the greatest positive and negative effect. The awareness of the farmers about benefit of consolidation project is another factor which has significant and positive impact on farmers' willingness. Furthermore, level of farmers schooling has no significant effect. In addition cultivation area and yield has been increased after project implementation in Niyaleh plain. The results of measuring the impact of economic factors indicate that the land consolidation has been caused to enhance the profitability of small lands in comparison to lager lands. Key words: land consolidation, farmers' willingness to participation, structural equation modeling, Meymeh.
