With the ever-increasing urban population, water usage and demand are continuously increasing. Hence, re-creating adequate water supply and fully utilizing wastewater become important issues in sustainable urban development. Domestic wastewater consists of blackwater and greywater. Blackwater describes the sewage toilet waste. Greywater consists of other domestic sources such as the laundry and laundry sink, bath, shower wastewater, kitchen sink and dishwasher wastewater. Greywater is characterised makes up 62% of the total domestic wastewater. The main applications for greywater reuse in Household greywater systems are use for toilet flushing and irrigation. The main purposes of this study are quality characterization of greywater and construct the pilot of greywater treatment. In order to determine the amount of greywater is Prodused in Houses, 8 Houses are monitored about 15 days. The system of greywater treatment and reuse are consist of surge tank, screen filter, moderator tank, sand filter, ultraviolet disinfection system, pumps and storage tank. This pilot installed in environment lab in Isfahan University of Technology. In order to determine efficiency of this system, the various experiments include Turbidity, COD, BOD and total coliform are conducted. Statistical presentation of data showed that the sand filter have the most effect in reduction of greywater contamination.this filter could reduce 66% of turbidity, 76% of COD, 86% of TSS and 83% of BOD in inlet greywater. The reduction efficiency of turbidity, COD, TSS, BOD and total coliform of greywater in this system are 74%, 84%, 93%, 89, 87%.
