Rangelands are one of those important restorable resources which have been destroyed to different reason in our country. One of the best ways for restoring of these destroyed rangelands is planting of the desire species. In this study, potential habitat of two rangeland species: Astaragalus verus and Agropyron trichophorum were investigated at the Karchambouy basin in the south of Fereydan township. at First, we selected nine of different rangeland sites, then effect of ecological factors were investigated by using of different statistical methods on the related species. In the next stage, digital layers of ecological necessity were prepared by using of the statistical and GIS techniques. Rock layer was also prepared by supervised methods from IRS-P6 satellite images. by result of the ordination analysis, ecological information layers were prepared by Boolean logic, and then these informations standardized based on ecological needs. Finally by incorporation of these layers, potential of these two species were distinct by special habitat analytical hieratical process.
