In a compelet randomize design 35 Holstein dairy calves were assined to five trearments (7 in each treatment) from the day 4 after birth until two weeks post weaning (for 70 days) to study effects of probiotic and Traditional yogurt (with 2 different pH , 3.8 for acidic and 4.5 pH) on their performances and health. Treatment groups were included: 1- control (milk without any additive yogurt), 2- milk containing 15% 3.8 pH Traditional yogurt, 3 - milk containing 15% 4.5 pH Traditional yogurt, 4- milk containing 30% 3.8 pH probiotic yogurt and 5-milk containing 30% 4.5 pH probiotic yogurt. The overall TDMI (total Dry mater intake) were not significantly different between treatment groups, but in week 1, treatments 2 and 4 TDMI were significantly higher than other treatments, and in week 7, all yogurt containing treatment had significantly higher TDMI intake than control (respectively p 0.001, p 0.01). The Overall average daily weight gains were significantly higher in yogurt containing treatments than control (p 0.01). however, acidic yogurt numerically had highest average daily weight gain. No significantly differences were observed related to daily weight gain after weaning between experimental treatments. Feed conversion ratio was significant between treatment groups (p 0.05), and was lower in yogurt containing treatments. Health and neutrophils numbers was not influenced by treatments. Lymphocyte numbers were significantly higher in yogurt containing treatments (p 0.001). Lymphocytes to Neutrophils ratio between experimental treatments were significant (p 0.05) and yogurt caused reduction in this ratio compaired to control. Cholesterol and triglycerides between experimental treatments were significant ( respectivly p 0.05 and p 0.01). and overall yogurt causes reduction in Cholesterol and increase in triglycerides. Acidic yogurt cased significant increase in triglycerides (p 0.01). The overall, body lengthes in day 34 (period 2) of experiment were higher in yogurt containing groups (p 0.01) and acidic yogurt causes significant increase in body length in day 14 (period 1) and second period of experiment (respectively p 0.01 and p 0.05).In day 56 ( period 3) of experiment, acidic yogurt showed higher withers and hip width between treatment group, (respectively p 0.01 and p 0.05) .
