Industrial development and technology have been consequent to environmental concerns, and leaded to make more attentions to control the pollution and sustainable land use planning. In this regard, among the soil pollutants, heavy metals due the long half-time and stability and their toxicity to animals and plants needed especial considerations. Therefore, knowledge about the spatial variability of heavy metals for decision making and proper management is very informative and useful. Chemical analyses are the well-known approaches for measurement of heavy metal contents in soils which are expensive and time-consuming. In recent years, magnetic measurements for evaluating of heavy metals in soils are developed and successfully used as a rapid and non-destructive method. Although, in this regard, several studies have been done to explore the relationships between heavy metals and magnetic measures, little information are available for these relationships in different particle size fraction. Therefore, this study was conducted to study the variability of magnetic susceptibility and heavy metals in different particle size fractions of surface soils of Foolade- Mobarakeh steel company in Isfahan province. For this purpose, soil samples were collected from 0-5 surface layer in 60 locations on a grid pattern.
