This study intends to model container mode choice in Iran national freight traortation network and investigates the prevalence of taste heterogeneity influencing shippers' mode choice, and capture tastes heterogeneity among decision-makers in the mode choice process. The study is based on revealed preference data, Rail and Road shipment records for the year 1397. By identifying industries' locations and their distance to the rail network, shipments were traorted by intermodal mode separated from rail mode. The data were analyzed using a weighted aggregate latent much more tonnage into the rail system in the short term.
