The history of materials handling is as broad and fascinating as that of industry itself. A variety of manual handling techniques and mechanical aids have been described and illustrated throughout the records of mankind’s development. Early records show many uses of simple levers and slings. This discussion focuses on those types of lifting slings most often used to connect a load to materials handling equipment. These type are generally categorized as follow: alloy steel chain slings, wire rope slings, metal mesh slings, fiber rope slings, and synthetic webbing slings. Webbing slings are one of the lifting devices in the industry. Tensile test results are one of the most important factors in analyzing the safety of the sling. In this research, six types of webbing sling were manufactured by warp knitting and tensile test, module measuring and shearing test was performed on them. In this research knitting pattern efficiency on webbing slings tensile strength by warp knitting method investigated. In webbing sling, warp yarn has an important role in tensile strength in compare with knitting pattern. According to the Analysis of variance, there were no significant difference between knitting pattern results. Therefore, for these type of sling fabrication, knitting pattern with less yarn consuming should be considered.
