Exploitation and human activities in coastal areas undoubtedly result in destruction of the surroundings especially the sea environment. The extent and severity of such intervention vary depending on the geographic location of the activities. Urbanization and industrial activities led to extensive changes in the physical characteristics of the earth's surface, amount of heat energy released, air pollution, changes in temperature and other meteorological parameters. the Petrochemical Special Economic Zone covers an area of approximately 2600 and is located in the city of Mahshahr- Bandar Imam. In this study, changes in land cover, land use and thermal pollution caused by the development of Mahshahr Special Economic Zone from of 1376 to 1394 were examined. For this purpose, land use maps of the study region were prepared using the using Landsat TM images for the 29.11.1376 and 11.15.1394 OLI and were categorized into 8 key words : Thermal pollution, Petrochemical Mahshahr, Landsat, Land use, LST
