Nowdays the subject of supply chain and the related topics is encountering increasing interest in both the academic and managerial ambits . The topic of performance measurement , because of it's important role in controlling and directing the operations , is one of the most important issues of these related topics. Food supply chain is one kind of supply chains that because of it's complexity , importance and it's role in people life needs an special attention . Meat industry is also one of the food industry which have encountered interest because of it's important place in Iran . In this research the meat supply chain and it's characteristics in Iran community have been studied. By regarding the segments of this chain and key factors of it , some suitable indexes have been developed for the performance measurement of this chain in strategic and tactical level and a method for ranking of this indexes have been prepared. In this research , the most important indexes in strategic and tactical level in whole chain and in each segment have been proposed . Also the Balanced Scorecard have been surveyed by regarding the especial characteristics of this chain and the ranking of it's aspects in this situation have been appointed .
