One of the approaches for corrosion management is iection, especially risk based iection (RBI), and sometimes a large percentage of the total risk of a unit is concentrated in a small percentage of its equipment, which can be reduced by using risk management strategies. Risk-based iection is done through three approaches: quantitative, semi-quantitative and qualitative. In this research, for a gas station, considering its components (pipelines, filters, etc.), a semi-quantitative risk-based iection approach has been performed in order to identify the existing degradation mechanism and rank equipment risk levels. The investigated station consisted of three phases and according to their conditions and records, risk-based iection has been performed. The predominant mechanisms of station identified was thinning due to erosion and external corrosion. The average corrosion rate was calculated for all components of each phase and it was found that the corrosion rate increased from phase A to C, respectively. This was due to the better separation of impurities from the fluid by phase A and also it’s lower feed than the other two phases.
