The value and importance of vegetation cover as the living and biologic indicator for recognition and knowledge of environmental revolutions make it necessary be studied by human being. For resource management, both natural and human resources, it i necessary to use methods with suitable accuracy and benefit which can be get the goals with lower costs than other methods. For this reason, the experts of natural resources are using digital images as their tools to study natural resources such as vegetation cover together with field measurement. The aim of this study is to evaluate vegetation cover of Kalahrud region using ASTER sensor data. The ASTER image of spring 2006 was used in this study.
