Schiff base ligands have been in the chemistry catalogue for over 150 years. Schiff bases are typically formed by condensation of primary amine and an aldehyde and or ketone. The resulting R 1 R 2 C=NR 3 is called schiff base. Schiff bases are generally bidentate, tridentate, tetradentate or polydentate. Ligands are capable of forming very stable complexes with transition metals. These compound play an important role in the coordination chemistry related to catalysis and enzymatic reactions, magnetism and molecular architectures. We used 2,3-phenazine diamine and react it with salicylaldehyde and 3,5-di(t-buthyl)-2-hydroxy benzaldehyde to synthesis Jacobsen tyoe salphene. We synthesized complex of Ni(II),Zn(II) and Co(II) with these ligands and characterized via FT-IR, UV-Vis and 1 HNMR. By using of Ni complex wich was synthesized, we can catalized oxidation of alcohols. We synthesized complex of V(IV) with phenylcyanamide ligand.
