In order to investigation the relationship between vegetation and some ecological factors and identify the most important factors affecting plant growth and their distribution in the Fereydounshahr of Isfahan province, a transect (North West to south east) in the length of 100 km was considered. Five rangeland sites were selected according to vegetation and topographical characteristics in the length of transect. Climate, soil, physiographical and vegetation canopy factors were determined for each rangeland site Indeed, four dominant species ( Astragalus adscendens ، Daphne mucronata ، Scrophylla festuca and Phlomis olivieri ) determined ecological discriminated groups. On the other way, cluster analysis based on environmental factors identified three ecological groups (similarity level= 70 percent). Silt percentage, soil acidity and electrical conductivity were most important factors in splitting groups. ). rinciple component analysis could also determine three ecological groups. First ecological group was appeared on places with coldest climate and shallow soils while other ecological groups appeared on warmer places with depth soil and low to moderate slope.
